Terms of use.
The legal notice for zymolent.com — who publishes it, what you may do with what you find here, and the limits of what our published technical information promises.
Published in good faith and read with your own judgement: technical information is a starting point, never a guarantee.
The short version
This website is a public catalogue and a place we publish what we have learned. It is not a shop, not a contract, and not a substitute for trialling a product in your own process.
- Read, download and share it for your work. Keep our notices attached and don't pass it off as your own.
- Treat every performance figure here as indicative. The specification and safety data sheet that ship with a consignment are the documents that bind us — not a web page.
- What you tell us in an enquiry stays confidential. Unsolicited ideas and inventions are the one exception; don't send those without an agreement in place.
This box is orientation only. The sections below are the terms themselves, and they govern.

Accepting these terms
By accessing or using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. We ask you to read them once rather than agree to them repeatedly: there is no banner to click and no account to create, so your use of the site is the acceptance.
If you are using the site on behalf of a company or institution, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and “you” means that organisation as well as you personally.
What these terms cover — and what they do not
These terms govern zymolent.com and any subdomain of it, together with everything we publish there: product and application pages, technical descriptions, the Insights articles, images, drawings and downloadable files.
They do not govern:
- Anything you buy from us. Samples, trials and orders are governed by the quotation, purchase order, supply agreement or terms of sale agreed between us. If those documents and this page ever disagree about a commercial matter, those documents win.
- Personal data. How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy, which is a separate document with its own effective date.
- Other people's websites. See links to other sites below.
The site has no user accounts, no login and no restricted area today. If we add one, these terms will be supplemented with terms specific to it, and you will be shown those before you register.
Changes to the site and to these terms
We may change, add to, suspend or withdraw any part of this website at any time and without notice, including a product page or a published article. We are not obliged to keep any particular page online, and a URL that worked once may stop working.
We may also revise these terms. The version and effective date at the top of this page tell you which set applies; the version in force when you use the site is the one that governs that use. Material changes are noted here rather than announced individually, so it is worth glancing at the date if you are relying on something.
What you may do with what is here
We publish this material to be used. You may, for your own purposes or those of the organisation you work for:
- read, view, print and save any page;
- download and circulate our published documents internally;
- quote from an Insights article or a technical page, with attribution to Zymolent and, where practical, a link back to the source;
- link to any page on the site, provided the link is fair, does not suggest an endorsement or association that does not exist, and does not frame our pages inside your own site.
What you may not do is take the material and sell it, republish it as a whole, or present it as your own work. All notices of ownership, authorship and copyright must stay attached to anything you copy or circulate.
Anything beyond this needs our written permission first. Ask — we are not difficult about it.
What you must not do
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that breaches the Information Technology Act, 2000 or the rules made under it.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting, or any system or network connected to it; probe or scan it for vulnerabilities other than as invited under our disclosure policy; or interfere with its availability to anyone else.
- Introduce malware, or any code intended to damage, disrupt or covertly access a system.
- Systematically harvest the site — scraping, crawling beyond ordinary search-engine indexing, or bulk extraction of content or contact details — or use it to build a dataset or train a model without our written permission.
- Use our contact routes to send unsolicited marketing, bulk mail or anything deceptive.
- Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation when contacting us.
We may restrict access to the site from any source that does any of this, and serious cases may be reported to the appropriate authority.
Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, photographs, illustrations, diagrams, line drawings, video, layout, design and code — is owned by Zymolent or used by us under licence, and is protected by the Copyright Act, 1957 and by equivalent law in other countries. Nothing on this page transfers any of it to you; you get the permission described above and nothing more.
Trademarks. “Zymolent”, the Zymolent logotype and our product names, including the Zymocel range, are trademarks of Zymolent Biosciences Private Limited. We assert our rights in these marks, including our rights at common law through use, and we have not marked them as registered. You may use them only to refer accurately to us or to our products; you may not use them as, or as part of, your own name, branding or domain, or in a way that suggests a partnership, endorsement or approval that does not exist.
Third-party names and marks that appear on the site remain the property of their owners and are used only for identification.
If you believe something we have published infringes your rights, write to office@zymolent.com identifying the material and the right you hold. We will look at it promptly and take it down while we do if that is the sensible course.
Product, technical and performance information
This is the section that matters most on a site like ours, so it is written plainly.
Everything we publish about a product — activity, dose range, temperature and pH optima, conversion or yield figures, trial results, comparisons — is indicative. It describes behaviour observed on defined substrates under defined conditions in our laboratory, in our pilot plant, or at a customer site. Your feedstock, water, upstream processing, equipment and operating window are not those conditions, and a biological catalyst is sensitive to all of them.
In particular:
- Published dosing is a starting point, not a specification. It is where a trial should begin, not a number to design a plant around.
- The documents that ship with a consignment prevail. The product specification, certificate of analysis and safety data sheet supplied with the goods are the binding technical documents. Where they and this website differ, they are correct and this site is out of date.
- Trial it yourself. You are responsible for satisfying yourself, by your own testing, that a product is suitable for your process, your substrate and your intended end use. We will help you design that trial; we cannot do it for you from a distance.
- Nothing here is technical, regulatory, safety or legal advice on which you should rely without your own verification, and no statement on this site should be read as a recommendation to infringe anyone's patent.
Where we describe research, development work or a product still being scaled, we are describing intent and progress. It is not a promise that a product will reach the market, on any particular date or with any particular property.
Safety and handling information
Industrial enzymes are proteins, and inhaled enzyme dust or aerosol is a known respiratory sensitiser. Microbial products carry their own handling requirements. Nothing on this website is a complete account of how to handle a product safely.
Before handling any Zymolent product, read the safety data sheet supplied with it and follow the handling, containment, personal-protective-equipment and disposal measures it sets out. If you do not have a current safety data sheet for a product in your possession, stop and ask us for one at office@zymolent.com. Summaries on this site are for orientation and never replace that document.
Availability, markets and regulatory status
The information on this site is directed at a professional and industrial audience worldwide, but not every product is available, approved or lawful in every country.
- Regulatory approval varies by jurisdiction and by use. Food, feed, food-contact and agricultural-input approvals are granted country by country. It is your responsibility to confirm that a product is approved for your intended use where you operate. A product described here for one application is not, by that description, cleared for another.
- Availability varies by market, and a product shown here may not be offered in yours.
- This website is not an offer. Product pages, descriptions and any indication of price are an invitation to enquire, not an offer capable of acceptance. A contract arises only when we accept an order in writing on agreed terms.
Export control and trade sanctions
Certain biological materials, microbial strains and related technology are controlled goods. Our supply of any product or technical information is conditional on compliance with applicable export-control and sanctions law, including India's Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 and the SCOMET list under the Foreign Trade Policy, and with the sanctions regimes that bind us.
You may not export, re-export, transfer or divert anything obtained from us, or any technical information from this site, in breach of those rules, to a restricted destination or end user, or for a prohibited end use. We screen counterparties before shipping and may decline or halt a supply on that basis without liability.
What you send us
Most of what reaches us is an enquiry about a process, and we treat it accordingly. This section draws one line, and it is worth reading before you write.
Enquiries and technical information
When you describe your substrate, scale, process conditions, results or commercial situation in an enquiry, we treat that information as confidential. We use it to answer you and to serve you, we restrict it internally to the people who need it, and we do not pass it to a third party except as our privacy policy describes. If your organisation needs a signed confidentiality agreement before a technical discussion, say so and we will put one in place first.
Please do not send genuinely sensitive material — trade secrets, unpublished data, identity or bank documents — through a web form or ordinary email. Ask us and we will open a secure channel.
Unsolicited ideas, inventions and proposals
Different rule. We work continuously on enzymes, strains and formulations, and much of it will resemble ideas other people have had independently. So we cannot accept an unsolicited idea in confidence without exposing ourselves to a claim over work we were already doing.
If you send us an unsolicited invention, product concept, formulation, business proposal or improvement suggestion, it is not confidential, it creates no obligation of any kind on our part, and it gives you no claim to compensation if we later develop something similar. Nothing in this paragraph affects a patent, design or other registered right you actually hold; it means only that sending it to us unasked does not create a relationship.
If you have something you want to bring to us properly, write and say so without disclosing it, and we will put an agreement in place first. That route is open and we use it.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another organisation's website, paper, dataset or profile, we do it because it seemed useful. We do not control those sites, we do not endorse them by linking, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or the way they handle your data. Once you follow a link away from here, that site's terms and privacy notice apply.
Availability, and no warranty
We take reasonable care over this site, but it is provided as it is and as available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free or free of malicious code, that defects will be corrected, or that the information on it is complete, current or accurate at the moment you read it. Computer and telecommunications systems are not fault-free, and periods of downtime happen.
To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations that would otherwise be implied by statute, common law or custom, including as to merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
This section is about the website. It does not limit any warranty we give you in a contract of sale, and it does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zymolent, its directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss or damage — whether in contract, tort including negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, this website or anything published on it. That includes loss of profit, revenue, production, business, contracts, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, and any indirect or consequential loss.
In particular, we are not liable for a decision you take on the basis of indicative technical information published here rather than on the specification, certificate of analysis and safety data sheet supplied with the goods, or on a trial run in your own process.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing here affects your rights under a contract of sale with us, which has its own liability terms.
Privacy and data protection
How we collect, use, share, transfer and retain personal data — and the rights you have over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where it applies, the GDPR — is set out in full in our privacy policy. It also records what this website does and does not do: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts.
Governing law, jurisdiction and general terms
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of this website, including a non-contractual one, are governed by the laws of India. The competent courts at Guwahati, Assam have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we submit to that jurisdiction.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right, that is not a waiver of it, and it does not stop us enforcing it later.
- Whole agreement. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of this website, and they replace any earlier understanding about it. They do not replace or vary a contract of sale or any other signed agreement between us.
- Language. These terms are published in English. Any translation is offered for convenience; if the two conflict, the English text governs.
